My Ramadan Decor 2015

ramadan decorWe’re almost half way through Ramadan, and here I am, posting my latest projects for Ramadan.

It seems as if I’ve taken procrastination to a whole new level.

Last year, in my Ramadan post, I had made a Ramadan tassle garland and a countdown entryway chalk board. This year I just added a few more things, without getting too crazy.

First things first.

Don’t go running to your calendars and begin counting up the days from 30, this picture was taken a few days ago. In fact, I don’t even think I’ve changed it yet.

Here’s last years countdown board.

ramadan decor My thoughts when I saw this were:

  • What is up with these filters I thought was cool to add to my pictures?
  • I liked the idea of writing a hadith of the day on the board. It allowed me to use it as a reflection throughout the day.
  • I wonder what scientific studies say about people who write slanted? (my A.D.D is kicking in, better make this post short)

Next, is a project I had a little fun doing, as I hid away from my toddler so she doesn’t want to “help”.

I didn’t take a before picture but these were basically wooden letters and a wooden board. I threw a few coats of paint on them and finished it off with a glitter paint.

ramadan decor I am SO into this glitter blast spray paint.

Last but not least, the project that took the most time and nearly all my fingers.

I looked every where for a crescent moon stencil. I wasn’t sure why I wanted one, nor did I have any idea what I would do with it, but what’s Ramadan decor without a crescent moon.

Frustrated, I decided to (attempt to) make my own using …

ramadan decor thumbtacks

All you need for this project is:

  • A foam board
  • Gold thumbtacks (I bought two – 300 ct.)
  • Patience

My only issue with this project was nailing it to the wall. I would recommend cutting the board to fit a photo frame and framing it, making it easier to hang on the wall. That, is what i’ll do, next year.

I had plans. Big ‘ol “i’m going to do this and that this Ramadan” plans but, Ramadan crept up on me.{Alhamdililah}

There’s always next year!

Hope you all are having a blessed Ramadan. I know we are.
