She looks pretty excited for peaches, but little she knows that for the next week i’ll be shoving peaches down your family’s throat before they go bad.

Up and at ’em, It all starts with the pancakes.

Buttermilk Peach Pancake Recipe

What you’ll need … 

1 Cup of flour of your choice, I used all-purpose

2 Tablespoons white sugar

2 Tablespoons brown sugar

1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg

Dash of salt

2 Teaspoons baking powder

1 cup of buttermilk

2-3 Tablespoons unsalted butter ( I go for 3 because I love my butta)

1 Egg

4 Ripe peaches

What you’ll do … 

Start by peeling the peaches. I boiled them in water for about 1 minute. Once they were cool to touch, I started from the top, and peeled downwards.

Chop up the peaches in small bite-size pieces and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking powder.

In a small bowl, mix the wet ingredients: milk, butter and egg.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Be careful not to over mix. Simply combine, it’s okay if it’s lumpy.

Mix in the peaches and let the batter sit for 10 minutes.

Preheat your grill or skillet on medium high heat. When it is hot, butter it up and get to flipping. Once the pancake is bubbly, flip. Repeat until the batter is done.

Note: I use a 1/4 measuring cup to pout the batter.

Now, you think your done? Take the extra steps to make the peach syrup and glazed peaches. Believe me, it is so easy to make and doesn’t take long at all.

Peach Syrup Recipe

What you’ll need … 

2 cups white sugar

1 cup water

1 Tablespoon lemon juice

1 Tablespoon butter

2 large, ripe peaches

What you’ll do … 

Make a simple syrup. If you haven’t made a simple syrup, no worries, it’s easy.

You start by mixing 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Once the mixture begins to boil, add a tablespoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of butter and reduce the heat to low.

Allow the syrup to simmer, as it thickens. I would say about 1o minutes. Let it cool before adding he peaches.

Meanwhile, boil the peaches for a minute or so. Once cool to touch, peel and roughly chop the peaches.

Put the peaches in a blender and blend until smooth.

Once your syrup, is cool, add the syrup to the peaches in the blender. Puree for about 30 seconds, just to combine.

Pour over the peach pancakes and enjoy!
