About Me

Hello there!

My name is Nawal and welcome to my blog, Coffee in my Sippy Cup.

Here’s a little about me …

I was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Saint Louis when I was itty bitty, 4 years old. I attended Maryville University, where I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communication.

I married my husband on April 22nd, 2012.He is the most clever man I know and as cliche as it sounds, he is my soul mate. We are very different in many ways, yet fit so perfectly together.

My daughter was born in February of 2013 and our lives have changed forever.

If I can pinpoint one time that I was the happiest I ever was in my 24 years of living, it would have been when my daughter was born.

We pretty much got pregnant right away and that’s when I decided, I wanted to be a stay-at-home-mom and that is what I became.

nawal abuhamdehI truley didn’t grasp the concept of living, until I became a mother. Alhamdililah!

When my daughter turned a year old, I decide to throw her a big First birthday in which resulted into the blog post, Rainbow 1rst Birthday Extravaganza!

In April 2014, we found out that Mariyah was going to be a big sister!

So the between the toddler tantrums and hovering over garbage cans with morning sickness, our family began to grow.

In December 2014, our lovely son was born!

From then on, I think of that time where I was the happiest I’ve ever been in my life, when Mariyah was born, but every day, I say to myself, “no, this is the happiest i’ve ever been!”

Multi-tasking has become my “thing” since then.

And Ferrahs, isn’t so bad at it either.nawal abuhamdeh

Although I have less time for myself, barely any sleep and absolutely NO privacy. This, is my life. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I welcome you to experience the joys of motherhood, through my blog. I, for one, understand the hardships of motherhood, but I also understand that when there is one bad day, there are twenty good days to follow. Hearing my children’s giggles, seeing their big smiles and getting those messy kisses, are what keeps me sane.

More about me?

I am more than a mother you know! I am something you would call a volunteer-aholic. I love to help people and be part of a difference.

A few wonderful women and I began a women’s committee at our local mosque where we host community building events and sponsor community service projects around our area.

I’m also a Sunday School Islamic Studies teacher to 26 lovely little 4 and 5 year olds where I learned that I have a passion for teaching young children, to which I will hope to expnad my degree into, in the future, inshAllah.nawal abuhamdeh

Other hobbies include reading, when I get the chance. 12376403_1006574322718214_8543381036866093711_n
